Floor Levling Over Ditra

I did have to do a foundation repair and put in piers 3 years ago so makes sense the contractor poured level quick over the top of the ditra heat to level it out.

My bathroom floor needs some floor leveler well a lot of leveler. Check out my other videos below. Ditra xl allows for ceramic tile application over single layer plywood osb subfloors on joists spaced at 24 610 mm o c. It is 6 x7 and the floor slopes a quarter inch over the 6 width.

As mike stated you should probably add a layer of 3 8 or 1 2 plywood over the subfloor to better support the weight. It turns out my floors are running downhill and are out of level by up to 1 1 2 or more. There was an alternative product mentioned in the forum thread called protegga which looks to be a slightly less expensive copy of the ditra you can read john bridge s comments about ditra knockoffs on his tile forum. Can i use self leveling compounds over schluter ditra or schluter ditra xl. Keep in mind you re adding a lot of weight to this structure with the self leveling mortar and tile. It would work to self level over a wood subfloor. Any leveling of the subfloor must be done prior to the installation of the membrane.
